The histology databank comprises 1,308 catalogued entries representing roughly 940 unique tissue
samples collected between 2004 and 2019. The collection spans a range of marine invertebrates, with
the largest holdings in Tanner crab (Chionoecetes bairdi) and snow crab (C. opilio),
alongside substantial bivalve collections including Australian flat oyster (Ostrea angasi),
Olympia oyster (O. lurida), Pacific geoduck (Panopea generosa), Pacific and other
oysters, and scallop. Samples were contributed by multiple lab members and collaborators. Tissue
type is recorded for most entries and is dominated by hemolymph, gonad, and visceral-mass
preparations, reflecting the collection's emphasis on reproductive and hemolymph-based studies of
disease and environmental stress. Each sample carries a unique identifier
(experiment-date_organism-label_tissue) and its physical storage location, linking
archived blocks and slides to their digitized histology images.
These specimens have slide images on owl but are not yet entered in the databank.
Use them as a worklist for backfilling the sheet. Cards marked “archival (.tif)” have no
browser-viewable version yet — run make_derivatives.py to generate JPEGs.
